The Chokehold
Character · Black-Ops Operative
The Wolf

The ghost who drops alone into impossible situations. His Apache went down over the Zagros plateau — and now the man who mapped Tariq Al-Fayed's oil routes is on his knees in an IRGC bunker, about to become a geopolitical justification for closing the world's most critical waterway.

The Wolf was bleeding onto the cold concrete floor of the subterranean bunker. His hands were zip-tied behind his back, his ribs bruised from the Apache crash on the plateau above. He knelt in the center of the dimly lit command center, surrounded by armed Quds Force commandos.

Standing over him, leaning heavily on a polished wooden staff, was Ayatollah Sadegh.

Character · The Theocratic Absolute
Ayatollah Sadegh

The Supreme Leader who trades not in derivatives, but in martyrs. A downed American helicopter in his mountains is not a crisis — it is a gift. The Cleric has been waiting for exactly this justification to close the throat of the global economy.

The Chokehold

The Cleric held up a shattered piece of black hardware—The Wolf's encrypted transmitter. "You thought you were mapping Tariq Al-Fayed's oil routes for your Wall Street masters," Sadegh rasped, his sunken eyes burning with dark fanaticism. "You thought you were a ghost. Instead, your downed helicopter has given me a tremendous gift: an act of undeniable Western aggression on sovereign soil."

The Wolf spat a mouthful of blood onto the floor. "I don't work for the government, old man. You have no idea what game you're playing."

"I am not playing," The Cleric whispered. He turned his back on the beaten spy and faced the massive digital map of the Strait of Hormuz—the twenty-one-mile-wide stretch of water through which one-fifth of the world’s oil flowed.

"The West believes they can freeze our capital and starve us while their hedge funds dictate our borders," Sadegh declared, addressing the Commander of the IRGC Navy. "Using this spy's incursion as our absolute justification, we will choke their arteries. Initiate the Persian Gulf Strait Authority."

The Wolf's heart sank. He suddenly realized the terrifying scale of the ripple effect he had just caused.

"No vessel enters. No vessel leaves," Sadegh commanded softly. "Target the Western fleets first. Squeeze the billionaires until they bleed."

The Commander bowed his head. "And if the Americans resist, Rahbar?"

"Let the sea boil," Sadegh whispered.

Part II: The Tycoon's Flagship
The Gulf of Oman • Aboard the 'Ocean Koi'
Character · The Shipping Magnate
The Tycoon

The most powerful logistics operator in the world, watching her empire suffocate from a Dubai penthouse. Eleven supertankers paralyzed at anchor. A hundred million dollars a day bleeding out. And now her flagship, the Ocean Koi, is in the crosshairs.

Her confrontation with the Crown Prince →

The Barbados-flagged oil tanker Ocean Koi was an absolute leviathan, carrying two million barrels of crude. It was the crown jewel of The Tycoon's logistics empire, moving sluggishly through the deep waters of the Gulf of Oman when the radar systems began screaming.

The Chokehold

Captain Miller rushed to the bridge window, raising his binoculars. He didn't see warships. He saw a swarm.

Nine IRGC heavily armed fast-attack speedboats were tearing across the ocean surface at fifty knots, cutting aggressive, chaotic wakes through the dark blue water. They moved like a pack of starving wolves, completely surrounding the massive, defenseless tanker.

"Hard to starboard! Get Dubai on the line! Tell The Tycoon we are being boarded!" Miller shouted, knowing his boss was watching her empire die in real-time from her penthouse.

It was too late. Heavy machine-gun fire erupted from the lead speedboat, the tracer rounds ripping across the bow of the Ocean Koi in a deafening warning shot. The water erupted in violent, white geysers of sea spray just inches from the hull.

The Chokehold

Above them, the heavy, thumping rotors of an Iranian military helicopter drowned out the radio static. Ropes dropped to the deck. Heavily armed IRGC commandos in black tactical gear began fast-roping directly onto the tanker’s bridge roof.

Suddenly, the horizon lit up.

Twenty miles to the west, three US Navy destroyers had entered the combat theater. The dull, thunderous BOOM of their 5-inch deck guns echoed across the water as they traded fire with Iranian anti-ship missile batteries positioned on Qeshm Island. The sky was streaked with the contrails of interceptor missiles.

The Chokehold

The ceasefire was dead.

As the IRGC commandos blew the locks on the bridge door and leveled their assault rifles at Captain Miller, a crackling voice came over the Iranian radio frequency.

"Ocean Koi, your vessel is seized under the authority of the Persian Gulf Strait Authority. Cut your engines."

The Chokehold

The Tycoon's flagship was taken. The Strait of Hormuz was officially closed.

Part III: The Cold Calculus
The Fish Tank • New York City

Thousands of miles away, safe inside a subterranean, climate-controlled bunker lined with bleeding-edge server racks, Sting Ray was hyperventilating.

The Chokehold

He was clutching a half-empty can of Red Bull, staring in abject terror at the massive wall of monitors broadcasting the live Al Jazeera feed. The screen showed The Tycoon's flagship being boarded, split-screened with footage of US Destroyers returning fire near Chabahar port.

"They're shooting at each other!" Sting Ray shrieked, dropping his can. "The US disabled two Iranian tankers! The Iranians hit ten sailors! We started World War III, man! And what about The Wolf?! He was in that helicopter! He's in an Iranian black site right now!"

Character · The Architect
The Shark

The man who placed every piece on the board. While Sting Ray hyperventilates at the edge of World War III, The Shark is perfectly calm — because this chaos was never an accident. It was the trade.

Sitting in the center of the room, illuminated by the cold blue light of a Bloomberg terminal, was The Shark. He was perfectly calm, sipping a glass of iced sparkling water.

Standing behind him in the shadows, Sting Ray’s fingers were flying across a mechanical keyboard with terrifying, rhythmic speed. He wasn't looking at the explosions on the news. He was looking at the math.

The Chokehold

"Global crude just spiked fourteen percent," Sting Ray reported, his voice devoid of any human emotion. "Shipping and logistics indexes are entering freefall. The 'Strait Authority' toll fees have instantly paralyzed The Tycoon's entire fleet. She is bleeding a hundred million dollars a day."

The Shark smiled. It was a cold, absolute expression of total victory.

"You... you wanted this?" Sting Ray stammered, horrified. "You let The Wolf get captured? You baited a sovereign nation into piracy just to bankrupt a shipping magnate?!"

The Shark finally looked away from the ticking numbers of his net worth, which was swelling by tens of billions in real-time. He looked at the trembling hacker.

"The Wolf is a professional. He knew the risks," The Shark replied smoothly, setting his water glass down. "His capture was the catalyst I needed. It forced Tariq's hand, enraged The Cleric into closing the Strait, and pushed The Tycoon into a corner she cannot escape. Every piece on the board is exactly where I placed it."

"Liquidate the shipping shorts, Sting Ray," The Shark commanded softly. "And prepare our proxy buyers. We are going to purchase The Tycoon's stranded fleet for pennies on the dollar."
